Thursday already? Nearly another week gone then.
Just the one appointment today, in the afternoon and not too far away so that was good. And the wether was kind to me and I actually managed to go on my bike. It was a pleasant ride through some nice country back lanes with cool bends to swing it round. My T-bird is no sports bike but she does handle well for a custom-style.
I spent the rest of the day actually catching up with some more work. Had a big shock this morning. We had an e-mail from the head honcho of our mother company department that we work under. He told us of a few changes that were happening and promotions. One of which was that our Field Manager has been promoted to Project Manager on another scheme, which means she’s leaving us. Now on one hand I am pleased for her as she deserves the promotion, but on the other I will be sad to see her go as she has been one of the best bosses I’ve had. The big thing is the way we found out. No-one in the team had any inkling this was in the pipeline, and to find out by getting a general e-mail rather than from within our project team, I think was bad management. Spoke with a colleague this evening and she feels the same. I’m sure it will be a big talking point at the next team meeting.......which I won’t be going to because I’m going to Germany. This leave was booked last November and the team meeting was moved to this date only recently so there is no way I am cancelling my leave.
Talking to my colleague, she is very quiet in her area too, as are others that she has spoken too, and a couple I have . We think it’s because there has been a new medication released that is a tablet as opposed to injections that we look after, so we think people are opting for this instead. I just hope they realise that there are more serious side effects for some with the tablet form. But it is a little worrying generally, if this is happening nationwide. We can see them slimming down the team which will mean more travelling for those that remain. I am glad I am looking at alternative employment to be honest!
Tomorrow I’ve got no appointments booked so it will be an admin day again. Probably do more research for articles! weather remains dry at the minute, but forecast says rain late tomorrow going into the weekend. Great, another one spoilt!
