I have now worked with coffee for two years, and yet I still do not grow tired of the repetitive nature of the business. Each day I get to make something small and insignificant to most, yet I see a light in each person that drinks it. Even if it is just for the caffeine, or the comfort; I still can see smiles. For me coffee is more then just a drink, it’s a conversation, it’s a idea, it’s home. Most won’t ever realize what makes up coffee, it’s a small overly complex seed that comes from a tree, that produces a slightly bitter drink. Whether you add creme or not makes no difference, we each have a preference for how we take our cup of joe. Each gram of coffee that’s in that cup has gone through an enormous amount of effort. Once done growing the seed is picked, husked, and shipped. Once arrived, the bean is roasted by hand, with a genuine love for each second of the process. When the roasting is finished we have a bean of perfection. I could gone on forever with coffee, but I think that’s enough for one post.
