so i have officially “popped”. i looked at a picture of myself about a month ago and then took a picture about 2 days ago and holy baby bump! i didnt even realize how much i and the baby have grown. pregnancy is simply amazing. it is astounding what happens to womens bodies and how a little person can grow and become a full human…its just amazing.
i got my hair cut today and got my nails done. my hair and nails have been growing like crazy, so i was in need of both. had my hair cut back in march (i think?) and my nails were done in july, so it was time. went to a salon in forest hills and spent MUCH more on my haircut than i thought i would. fair price for the mani/pedi, but this haircut was not worth $60 when my hair was already short to begin with. oh well! i also treated myself to a bubble tea.
baby has been moving around a lot more as of late. hes moving around for longer periods of time and more frequently. just shorter naps in between activity i guess lol. i just cant believe how much ive grown in the last month. its insane. im getting to the point where i wont be able to see my feet soon lol. if i look directly down, i cant see them, but i can kinda tilt back a bit and still see them. putting on shoes has not been difficult yet, so thats good! i definitely couldnt paint and cut my toenails on my own though. they feel so much better now that theyre cut! so yeah…glad the baby is growing and moving and doing well. im actually excited to go to the doctor next week…
i saw my doctor when i was about 14 or 15 weeks…and i havent seen her since (im now 23 weeks…) i went to the ultra sound place (separate from my dr) at 17 weeks to find out the gender of the baby. i was supposed to call and schedule an appointment with my doctor for about 21 weeks and completely forgot. SO! when i realized i had forgotten (i was about 20 weeks) i called and the earliest my doctor could fit me in was next week (ill be 24 weeks then). im supposed to see the doctor once a month, but i wasnt even sure if i could do the 16 week ultra sound, but then realized i was still paying off my deductible so it didnt matter and between pregnancy brain and the end of the school year and the beginning of camp/summer, it slipped my mind to call my doctor back. (sorry that was one giant run on sentence!) so, hopefully my doctor doesnt ream me out too badly lol. at least my husband is coming with me! he can finally meet the doctor and ask her all the questions he asks me and i have no answers for.
TMI ABOUT MY BOOBS the other new development this week is that ive started to lactate a very small amount. 2 nights ago, dann and i had some amazing sex (we havent been intimate in almost a month, so it was extra special) and afterwards, i felt my nipples were a little cold and wet. i thought maybe it was a little sweat and didnt think much of it. then a few minutes later, it kept happening. so, i checked out my boobs and noticed there was wetness coming out of the nipples. now, if this is something youve never experienced, it is a little freaky! usually, when youre not pregnant, as a young woman you are warned about anything coming out of your nipples. that usually means you have some sort of infection. however, when youre pregnant, this is a normal and usual thing. i was a little freaked out and of course, my husband being who he is, was not very helpful. he kept smiling at me and saying very cutely “aww! my baby is lactating!” and embarrassing me. its not like i can squeeze my boobs and milk comes squirting out like a cow…it is too early for that. but my breasts are doing their job and starting the milk making process. guess that means my boobs are going to grow in the next few months and i will need to go bra shopping again soon! i had to go to the maternity store and buy breast pads for my bras, just in case my boobs start leaking more often and in a greater amount. i dont want to be walking around and start leaking through my shirt. i was not prepared for my boobs to start doing this so soon! alright hubby called and said hes FINALLY on his way home from work! gotta heat up some dinner for him and get into my PJs. teacher training in the morning BARF later!
