One more day left of my Ultrasound rotation! I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s not something I want to go into at this point in my life, but if I ever get burnt out on patient care, it’s definitely a field I would consider looking into. I did an ultrasound-guided cystocentesis on a cat today and it went well and we’ve been practicing doing biopsies on a model made of gelatin with pieces of hard boiled eggs inside as our targets. I have better hand-eye coordination for that kind of thing than I thought. Plus I’ve loved that it’s been a super laid back rotation with no extra work to do after the day is done.
Next block, Medicine, will be a completely different story. That department has been crazy busy in the last few weeks and I have a feeling that the trend will continue. I’m scared because I feel like I don’t know enough info but I have to keep reminding myself that this is my first Medicine rotation of four so I’ll improve and learn a lot. Still, scary!
Eek! I’m officially 1/4 done with my clinical year! How wild is that? I feel like I’ve learned so much but also like I don’t know anything.
I think dinner is ready, but I have more to write about! And I’m super behind on reading! So busy!!!!
