How far along? 27. 5 Weeks

How big is baby? She weighs almost 2 pounds (about the size of a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended.

Total weight gain/loss: 127 lbs / up 21 lbs (eek! gaining a bit faster than I’d like to now)

Maternity clothes? aaaaahhhhhhh yesses

Sleep: Eh. Sleep is elusive. I’ve just kind of resigned myself to thinking I’ll never really sleep again.

Best moment this week: Watching my mom bond with Joaquin. She came to LA solo from Minneapolis (first time ever without my stepdad) and she’s been spending some really sweet quality time with him. We left late Monday night and I’ll get home later today, (Thursday AM), which means she will have been in charge of him for more than two full days. It sounds like they are having a wonderful time, and I’m so glad Joaquin is getting this time with his grandma before he officially becomes a big brother.

We also had a photo shoot (maternity / mom’s in town shoot) and while parts of it were painful and tedious, I think we may have gotten a few really great shots & moments out of it.

Worst moment this week: It’s been a good week. It was hard leaving Joaquin with my mom because… guilt. But it’s all working out great.

I guess the worst moment was taking the red eye flight from LAX to Boston. It was just SOOO uncomfortable for me and I slept terribly. But eh, no one ever said taking a red eye was a fun thing to do, so it’s kind of my bad for scheduling it.

Movement: She’s currently hiccuping up a storm. I bumped myself up to a first class ticket on this flight home from Boston, so I’m enjoying a lovely flight, writing this entry and loving feeling my sweet little girl move in my belly.

Food Cravings: Candy – because I’m working in the field and it’s EVERYWHERE I LOOK. Also, because I just spent a few days in Boston, I have lobster on the brains.

Food Aversions: None at the moment.

Gender: sweet, strong lady warrior.

Labor Signs: getting some braxton hicks still… nothing too exciting, thank goodness.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Thankfully, I was able to squeeze out a few short runs in the past week or so, which felt really good. I also had a massage on Sunday which helped work out the kinks and knots. Sciatica flare-ups are sort of intermittent and not too terrible.

Belly Button: OUT and OUT.

What I miss: Having some sort of coordination. I feel so clumsy / awkward / huge lately.

What I am looking forward to: Ultrasound on Friday (not looking forward to the glucose test though.. mehhhhh)

BABYMOON?!?!

Milestones (BabyCenter):

She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle
