Well, nothing spectacular has happened this week.

Work has been steady, just 400 miles done this week which is less than average.

Furby, the new pup, is settling down well. We were worried for the first couple of days because Honey, our other Lhasa, didn’t seem to be taking to him and would growl, snap and run away from him. But now they are best of buddies and run round the garden playing brilliantly together. Harley, the Collie, is still a little unsure, but I think that’s more of an age thing. He’s over 9 and is starting to feel his age with his hips playing him up sometimes. Not that you would think it the way he still jumps and runs after toys! I think we have been really lucky with the way the new one has settled in and now we have 3 fantastic dogs. Furby definitely is different to Honey. Honey is really sensitive and loving, as well as playful. Furby is into biting fingers, as well as other things, and still has needle sharp puppy teeth! He is very vocal and a real roughy-toughy sort. He does like cuddles too at sleepy times, so maybe he’ll turn into a similar mind-set to Honey. Just can’t remember Honey being this mad when she was young!

Finished my first assignment for the Freelancer course. It seemed quite easy, but I guess they are just breaking me in gently! LOL I’ve sent it in and am now just awaiting feedback. The assignment was to take an article from newspaper/magazine and develop 3 more possible stories from it. It had to be something tangible as they will form the basis of further assignments so has to be something I can follow up. I’ve chosen a “Human Interest” article from a newspaper this week. It was a bit about Prince William starting his first shift as an Air Ambulance Pilot. It’s with a local service so I should be able to follow it up easy enough. I don’t think I’ll get to interview the Prince himself but hopefully some of the other staff eventually! I chose it because of my interest in aviation (ex-RAF) and also medical background. Be interesting to see what comes of it. I’m quietly confident.

Earlier this week Paula (eldest daughter) gets a call from the school. Jayden (middle grandsprog) has “bumped” his head. Their words. Apparently when Paula got there, Jay had blood running down his head and had split it open at the back when he hit it on climbing bars after he’d slipped (not from any particular height). Obviously he was a bit upset seeing all the red stuff, but Paula knew what to do (I trained her well!) and put pressure on it, and then took him to the local ED. It wasn’t a huge cut, about 1”/2.5cms, but head wounds always bleed well. He ended up having it glued and has been fine since with just a slight headache, but no concussion. Next day he was at home , turned round quick and banged his head on a doorpost! No injury though, and it hasn’t knocked any sense into him! I am sure my gransprogs are all accident prone!

Managed to get out on the bike on Friday. Weather wasn’t too bad, dry but a little overcast. I had to go into town to get printer cartridges and really needed to blow the cobwebs off. It was brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it, been about a fortnight since the last one. Just need time to ride it!

Well, I think that’s about all for now. I’m going to try and right more often as I will obviously need the practice! A lot of Freelance books I have read do advise to keep a Blog going, so I shall use this as mine, but don’t expect a post every day!
Take Care, peeps.
