the uppity down in Words that Rhyme

uppity down it’s around that we go
a familiar old place we never did know
a vision of blindness we see in the light
a day full of darkness takes night out of sight

stand we in stillness in room where we dance
moving our feet without stirring our pants
close in my arms as I spin all alone
kisses so sweet from the invisible drone

speaking so free without so much a word
screaming so loud you cannot be heard
message so clear no one will know
telling the place we never will go

come as you are as you never will be
and look in the mirror at who never you’ll see
for once in one life we all gasp on the air
in the vacuum of life that never was there.

Perhaps one of my favourite things you've ever written... the almost-frivolous title deliberately misleads, because these contrasts and dichotomies are powerfully real... I feel the frustration in them...

Well thank you. I must admit I never can second guess how people will respond to poetry....
