Non-stop.
That is our life, but as I said before I wouldn’t have it any other way. The only way we stop is if I get one of my ever glorious headaches that are just awful. Maybe that’s nature’s way of telling me to slow down. Even with one of these pounding headaches I still manage to find a way to keep going through the pain.
My husband’s business has been slow for the past 6 months. Bad and good. Bad because cash flow hasn’t been all that steady, but good because for 6 months, we’ve gotten used to having him around. A year ago was a totally different story! Last year at this time, he was out of town every week and only home on weekends, one day of which I was at work myself. It’s a nice change of pace having him home. We just got word today though that another project is firing up, so we won’t be seeing much of him anymore. (Cue to silent sobs).
Yesterday, the kids and I met up with some moms from our mom’s group at our local zoo. We splashed around in the splash pad, and chatted with friends. Ethan has gotten so used to the water, and finally isn’t afraid to run around and get his face wet. Matthew has decided that he’s going to ease himself into splash pads. He isn’t too big of a fan of getting sprayed with water, but that didn’t stop him from having fun running on the out skirts of the splash pad. We made our way back to take a sneak peek at the two new baby gorillas. These are the first baby gorillas born in Tennessee in 30 years, and they were at our zoo! They were so adorable! Ethan decided that it was a good time to tell me that it was time to have him a sister. I had to laugh. I’ve told him time and time again, he’s going to have to get used to the idea that his little brother is all he is going to have. (Hubs is snipped, I don’t do well carrying babies to term. I had both of mine prematurely so no more babes for me!). After wandering around looking at the animals, we decided to play at the indoor playground because it just got way too hot. We have been sitting in the mid 90’s all week. Humidity here is a killer.
Today the whole family got up early and made our way to Splash Country (a huge waterpark here that we have season passes for). It was like a high school reunion today for me. All of my best friends from high school that I don’t get to see too often ended up being there. I also ended up seeing a few moms from my group there as well. My little thrill seeker Ethan just had to go on every ride that he was tall enough for, which happens to be all but 4 of the rides. I wasn’t feeling all to well so for the most part I let Billy take Ethan on all the rides and I just hung out in the kid area with Matthew. It rained off and on while we were there and not too much sun came out so it made for a relaxing day. The only thing that would have made the day better is if my head didn’t start pounding.
When we got home, I was to the point that light and sound were bothering me, so Billy took the kids outside to play with the water table and let me rest in a dark room. While my headache isn’t fully gone, I can tolerate light and sound now. I hate the headaches I get!
Tomorrow holds a mom group meetup, and then Thursday we are traveling down to my in-laws house to swim in their pool (They live an hour away). Like I said…never ending busy!
