Tomorrow is the tenth anniversary of the death of my youngest daughter…
Hard to believe she has been gone for so long…
For several years (since moving to Oregon)… I have hosted a 4th of July party… mostly to take my mind off of her passing…
Last year… the annual neighborhood barbecue/party that had been held in August… was moved up to the 4th of July… so I cancelled mine… so that I could attend the neighborhood party…
Well this year… I was asked if I would be willing to host the neighborhood party… and I immediately said “yes”…
I have quite a bit of room… enjoy hosting parties… and have invited quite a few of my friends (non neighbors) as well as friends from here in the “hood”…
The party is on Saturday (of course)… and I expect well in excess of fifty people…
Should be interesting…
Should be lots of fun (smiles)…
And on a personal note… the degree of grief I continue to feel… has diminished with the passage of time…
