I’ve been too busy living life, I guess, to really update the way I want to.. and this past weekend was about a hundred stories. I never have time to frame them the way I want. The perfectionist in me, I guess.

Friday: Spent 7 hours with Bryan. Went to Karaoke with Ian, Meredith, and of course Sam and Steve. You guys kinda know what happened some there.

Saturday: Went over to Sam and Steve’s and helped clean up for the two house showings, packed up the kitties, and took them to his mom’s where I finally met Roy and his wife Faye. Roy gave me a new nickname as we watched the AMAZING card the UFC put on in New Orleans. The car ride back was one of the funniest experiences of my life. I am hard to make laugh, and I had tears laughing so hard. We had an amazing time. My birthday is Saturday, but Steve and Sam could not have given me a better birthday present than Saturday.

Sunday: Cleaned the house for six hours with my brother, it looks so good, and then Ian, Meredith, and Mike came over and we gamed. Everything went normal. They do want me to come to their house more regularly to introduce their kitties to peoples. Heh. Was fun though!

Anyway.

I said a while back about the date that I was conflicted. I have a variety of reasons for that. It doesn’t really matter though. (And yes, she wants to see me again, and I have no idea what I’ll do, she’s in New York at the moment, I think. She kept telling me I was food for her soul, heh. Anyway.)

So I’ve met someone amazing.

That, for me, is a rare find.

And these words spilled forth. I was not writing out of want, but of necessity.

I’ll write more about the weekend later (Having a big BBQ/UFC PPV/Cards Against Humanity party on my birthday this Saturday June 13th at Sam and Steve’s house.. if you’re around NOLA give me a shout!) and fill everyone in.

Too many stories.

Here’s the poem, which I wish was better, but it was perfect in the moment.

And sometimes the inspiration comes from you, darling, and only you..

“In The Wind”

Whispers float like ghosts
Buoyed by the winds
Thoughts become moments
Oppressive in their own right
Falling like warm raindrops
Lazily on worn rooftops
Holding it
She’s always holding it all in

She dances in the darkness
Her feet barely touching surface
She floats amongst the mist
Of so many moments
Recorded history
Only thoughts now
Countless the amount
Oh, precious
Precious are they,
These thoughts
Thoughts she will relive

It is her smile, though
The brilliance of the morning
Soft sunlight
Shimmering always
And most decidedly
When the dark
When darkness closes in

Her hair matches her soul of life
The burdens she shrugs off
Struggles with
Never a thought to collapse
Nary a thought to give in

Her eyes are of the oceans
Pure and robust in comfort
Her lids hide suffering
That her spirit has fought with
And stumbled a time
Until she found her roots
Deep in the wind

Her smile is of comfort
Her eyes teach of how to forgive
And her body is the vessel of a thousand journeys
Worn and warm
So is her spirit
The most comforting of all
She can hold you with her heart
Her mind
Her soul
A treasure of the finest virtues
She is summertime in November
She is cautious and rarely caught
She is magic without component
She is sunlight
Burning hot white

Oh, she is comfort
Comfort in the wind

She blows my mind.

She is the wind.

May you always find your smile.

Glad you had a fun pre-birthday---I'm a fan of celebrating birth months instead of just the day. ;)

I like this part a lot:
It is her smile, though
The brilliance of the morning
Soft sunlight
Shimmering always
And most decidedly
When the dark
When darkness closes in

She sounds lovely.

Aw, I always appreciate when you spotlight something that stands out if anything does!

She is lovely, but I'm unsure she realizes it.
