In reference to the title - could a more perfect name be found to describe one of the world's best foods? I think not.
Halloween is tomorrow. I'm super excited! I have my GREAT costume and my backup costume both ready to go. If it's raining, I'll have to wear the backup costume. It's just not possible to wear a satin Belle dress all day, getting in and out of my car several times in the rain and not mess it up. I spent a lot of time and money putting that costume together. I'm not going to let it get destroyed. I'll wear it at home for the trick-or-treaters that come by. My backup costume is a Star Trek uniform. I found a short red dress that flares out perfectly. I'll wear some black leggings and my kicky boots and my Trek Engineer's badge. It'll do. All the guys in my room at the office are going as Trek crew members. I can't believe I finally talked them all into dressing up. It only took 10 years.
Other than that, I has a sad.
Daisy has some terrible hot spots. I hate that she's uncomfortable. I took her to the vet and she's got meds, but still. Poor doggy.
D'Artagnan is dying. My poor old kitty. Earlier this year we found out he probably had a cancer of the intestines. We treated him with some steroid shots to help him improve and he was better for a while. The vet warned us it was only a stop-gap. He would eventually worsen again. Nathan and I agreed that we wouldn't treat Big D anymore. He stresses out too much. He doesn't travel well at all and just being in the crate is horrible for him. So, his last trip to the vet will be his LAST trip to the vet. Nathan will drive and I will hold Big D in my lap wrapped in a blanket. I'll never put him in a crate again. I'll sedate him at home if I have to. It'll probably be soon. He's slowly starving to death as his intestines become one big cancer. However, right now he's happily enjoying eating everything from the table and high calorie canned food. His last few weeks are going to be his best in his mind.
