Long weekend in Earth and Sky

What an amazing time! I can’t remember the last time I’ve had such a smooth, relaxed, and overall fun weekend.
Saturday was crazy! I ended up finding (thanks to a work-friend) a WICKED deal on a nursery set. Crib, dresser, changing table, and toy box all for $275 OBO. So I rushed my husband to get ready for work, called my dad to borrow the truck, and headed to a nearby town to go check it out.
The whole set is in virtually PERFECT condition. Aside from a few chips and nicks here and there, it’s a gorgeous set. The color isn’t my favorite, but who cares? Oliver certainly isn’t going to and at this point I’m really only concerned with functionality and safety. The fact that the whole set matches is a HUGE perk all on it’s own. So I talked the couple down to $250 and Tim and our friend Mike loaded everything up into the truck. We were able to get everything into the nursery before I had to bring Tim in to work, but we weren’t able to set it up until Sunday morning.

After I dropped Tim off at work I headed into the hilltowns to my Aunt and Uncle’s for a cookout. What an awesome time! I ate SO MUCH food and just relaxed in a big lawn chair by the fire and watched my cousin and his friends play corn hole. I drank iced tea and munched on BBQ and finally left around 9. I picked up Tim from work at 11 and went straight to bed when I got home. I’m not much of a night owl these days.

Sunday was great. We set up the nursery after breakfast and it came out exactly how I wanted (I’ll post pictures at the end of the entry). Tim took the car to work and Chelsey picked me up shortly after to go check out this baby consignment shop a few towns over. It was so big! They had SO MUCH baby clothing and various other baby odds and ends. I picked up a few onsies I really liked and only spent 11 dollars. Score! After that Chels and I went and grabbed some dinner and when we got back to my house we both ended up passing out in my living room for 2 hours. You know you’re comfortable with a person when the two of you can be mid-conversation and just pass the fuck out. We both woke up around 7 and she rushed out the door because she had to make it to some store before 8. I spent the rest of the night curled up in the recliner watching Netflix and reading. Awesome.

And Monday was so much fun. Marie and Jackson had a Memorial Day party at their place. The turn out was awesome and there were SO MANY naked babies running around! Jackson set up a kiddie pool and Marie’s mom just hung out by it and watched over the kids. It was so nice to relax in the grass and just chat with everyone. No stress, no drama, just a nice, relaxing day outside. Well, outside until it got too hot and we all moved inside. We watched Jurrasic Park and Live Free or Die Hard and cooled off. Once the sun set we headed outside for a fire. Unfortunately, Marie wasn’t able to stay outside for too long because her son was getting fussy and needed to go to sleep, but the time I did get to spend with her just catching up was therapeutic and enjoyable.

And Great Gods, look at this.

It’s called, “The Green Lady (or Woman) and Child”. Marie gave it to me yesterday as a gift for me and Oliver and I haven’t been able to stop looking at it. It was made by a woman on Instagram (her account it @thisthatandthese, check her out) and it’s entirely hand made. The point at the bottom is Rose Quartz and it’s supposed to be amazing for connecting with your child. I was so in awe when I opened it… it’s so gorgeous and I am SO thankful to have it. Thank you, Bumblebee. <3

So, that’s really all I guess! I’ve got to work the rest of the week, grocery shopping tomorrow, court on Thursday, doctors appointment on Friday. Tim and I were going to try and go to the beach this coming weekend but it looks like rain in NH, so think we’re going to hold off. I may go see the new Mad Max movie instead and spend the weekend relaxing at home. I desperately need a bummy weekend. But we’ll see, that’s still a few days off.

And now, nursery pics!

It’s very bare still, but it’ll come along. It’s just so nice to know that all of the heavy work is done and now all that’s left is to decorate and wait for our little man. :] I’m so happy.
