And sometimes the inspiration comes from the moments you press your fingers into clay, and you form the words from the clay of life..

“You Are Sundance”

There are streaks in my night sky
Stars burning their cosmic essence
Brighter and lighter
Than they did just last night

You are those sterling steely motes
That pepper my midnight eyes
You are Sundance
And I your kind
Wishing on the stainless
Surface of your glorious smile
And the shooting stars
That could never dare compare
To your soft blue
Ocean eyes

There was something deeper
Something so much sweeter
And something so very necessary
About this falling out of the heavens
Angel-breath-in-your-silhouette
Moment pausing time

There are stars, darling
There are stars again!
Finally, they exist,
So much sparkling
When you color my sky

I’m exhausted lately. Spent Friday night with Sam and Steve then took them to the airport at 6am Saturday. Been watching their kitties everyday until Sam and Steve return next Saturday when I pick them up around 5pm.

Bryan called me today.

We haven’t spoken in years.

I haven’t seen him since 2003?

Was a great talk. We’re going to get together when he comes back to NOLA Friday or Saturday. He said my voice changed though?!

I’m curious to see what he’s going to think of me when he sees me, because I was always huge when we were friends. Should be fun to see him and catch up. His wife is pregnant with their first child – a daughter they plan to name her Avery Emma. His wife sounds wonderful. I want to meet her.

I have tons of embarrassing Bryan stories. ;)

He was trying to apologize for the betrayal he did so many years ago, and I tried to talk, and he kept telling me to stop. He said, “Stop, Brian, I can hear the wheels in your head grinding. You’re trying to make me feel better. Don’t.” I tried to protest. “Brian, stop, you’re trying to make me feel better. I know you.”

I said, “Bryan, I just don’t see why you would feel bad about it. It’s history. I shouldn’t have tossed away a 13 year friendship with my best friend over it. I wish I had reacted differently.”

Bryan said, “Yeah, see? You’re trying to make me feel better. You always do. Man, I’ve missed you.”

“I missed you, too.”

Sometimes the world isn’t such a bad place.

Sometimes..

They always come back to me.

They always come back to me.

That’s a story for another time. (I seem to say that a lot?! haha.. I’m full of stories.)

Cowboy Mouth. New Orleans’ own.

”I believe that sometimes you’ve got to take a chance
That you can’t live your life just listening to can’ts
Cause the thrill of the ball’s part of the thrill of the dance
I believe in the power of love

I believe that we never really are alone
’Cause there’s so much more than anything we’ve known
New Orleans is always gonna be my home
I believe in the power of love”

By the way, that’s the proper way to say New Orleans.. don’t be a tourist and say it wrong, we really despise New Or-leens.. :)

Ohhh! And ask me a question here if you’d like to play the Question Game with me, and I’ll make an entry later answering all the questions asked of me. And I won’t put any names to the questions, so feel free to bring it. I’ll be 100% honest and transparent. The former I always am. The latter? That.. doesn’t happen very often. :)

I’m exceptional at saying a lot without revealing anything. :P

I'm glad the two of you are getting together, even if it's taken awhile. :)

Thanks. I don't hold grudges. After time has passed and I have recovered I usually am more than happy to mend fences.

Except for the black hole. Probably never for her. Which is a first for me. :)

Great poem!

It's always amazing when old friends come back into our lives.

Thank you, dear. It is fascinating when we reconnect is it not?

Growth happens.

Never stop growing!
