Stayed home today. I tried to shower today, but only cold water came out. I know that my water heater has been on the fritz for several weeks now. But I put up with it except today, I really didn’t want to go without for another week. I’ve been letting it interfere with my exercise/hiking schedule too. Who wants to come back from work, hike, and then shower in cold water? Not me.
So I finally called them about 7. They told me my appointment would be about 11-1. They got here about 1. They’re replacing my water heater, fixed part of my shower, and they replaced a faucet. It’s all good and well, but it’s costing me. Probably overpaying, but seems like good quality, plus the company seems reputable. I got this guy a friend knows to do some other minor work on the shower before, but in the long run, I think this is for the better. Plus, last Saturday, I texted the guy asking if he was available the next day (Sunday). He texted back asking who it was. When I told him, there was no response. Too bad, you lost a job.
They’re still here. It’s almost 7. I’m guessing the whole job will take another two hours. They were out for about 2 hours earlier getting all the parts.
Found a friend to go to a wedding with me. It’s down by Knott’s. Got a room since I don’t really feel like driving back after. It’s in October and the bachelor party is in Vegas in September.
Looks like I’ll be going on a road trip this summer. Probably going to go see the Diamondbacks in Phoenix, then on to Santa Fe to visit a friend, to Denver to see the Rockies, and then to San Francisco where a friend is at a conference for a week. So the total trip will probably be about 2 weeks. Hopefully it won’t be too expensive. One weekend will be in Santa Fe with a friend so that’s relatively cheap. Also one week is with my friend in San Fran and she’s already got a hotel room there. Took a look at the games for each team and everything should line up. It’ll be fun and part of my goal to visit every baseball stadium.
Things are shaping up for my summer.
While not totally cheap, I put in to work part of summer school so that should be a nice chunk. Also, it looks like the raise the union negotiated should go through so hopefully that’ll kick in at the same time. So good times.
Edit: They just left. Total job time was 9 hours.
