I got sent home from work a bit early. We were super busy but all the sales were small, so we weren’t making our goals. Ugh. Ashley asked for volunteers to go home early and a couple did (I didn’t) but half an hour later she sent me home, anyway. Not a fan. I went home an hour early yesterday, too.
I also don’t have a lot of hours next week… something like 15… after having 30 hours a week that last couple weeks. I had a decent paycheck, though (ironically it was about the same as every paycheck I got from Jacadi–a place I worked from May 2008-August 2012).
But in better news, Cori’s job is safe ! He actually found out earlier this week. He did some training at the campus and went back to the kid’s house today (he’ll probably be back any minute). Best part is that on his next paycheck he will actually receive the pay he would’ve made had no case been opened. So yay !! That was stressing me out a lot.
Also, he came with me to my last counseling session and we talked about the rape. It helped to have him there, even though he didn’t say a lot (he did say things I neglected to say or forgot to say, so that was helpful). He will come with me next week, too.
Our 2-year anniversary is Wednesday (well, 2 years as a couple… but we’ve been friends since 2007). I have had the last couple Wednesdays off and so I assumed I would have this one off, too. I work 2-9, so that was a surprise. Then I told him we could celebrate on Tuesday because I literally haven’t worked on a Tuesday since early January, and what happens ? I work Tuesday ! But it’s only 9-2 and on call until 4 (I doubt they will keep me) and he will be at his internship from about 1-5 so we will probably be able to do something. However we were also considering celebrating during the first week in May instead, but I should’ve just requested off a day and I don’t know if it’s too late by now. That way maybe we could do something else, too, like go to Newport Aquarium. Hmm. I guess the coming week IS the first week in May, so I mean May 5-11.
Amanda is also coming down tomorrow (I train from 8am-noon) to give me the key to her apartment so I can take care of her cat while she’s in London in a couple weeks and her mom got free Reds tickets so we will go to a baseball game if the weather is okay. I thought they were playing the Brewers (I grew up rooting for WI teams since my mom was born and raised and Dad spent a good amount of time there, too) but apparently they were at Milwaukee a few days ago, are playing Chicago at home now, and then Milwaukee WILL be here in a couple days ! Ergh. Now I really wish I had off on Tuesday, we could’ve gone to a game ! I don’t own any red at all. So I’m painting my fingernails red and that will have to do. I’m not a Reds fan, but I suppose I will root for them if they aren’t playing the Brewers.
Anyway. I think I’m just going to keep being stressed until I go PT w/ benefits at Sephora (that way I’m guaranteed 25 hours a week) or full time. It seems it rotates between one good paycheck and one sort of crappy one. But that’s better than consistently crappy ones, I guess. But at least Cori’s job is safe (though I told him I’m uncomfortable with him taking care of that kid now). And the fact that they are paying him for the time he didn’t work… that’s great, too ! I have an idea of what that amounts to and, hey, maybe he will even offer to pay next month’s rent out of it ! LOL
