Lost a darn entry! in A New Beginning

Yesterday evening I was piddle-poopin’ around, typing an entry here that was chipper but not really saying very much. I managed to ramble on for quite awhile without saying much of anything, but then when I went to post it, my dumb internet had come disconnected and it disappeared! That used to happen on Open Diary once in awhile, and aggravating as it was, I’d just conclude, “Well I guess I wasn’t meant to post that, for whatever reason.” Maybe I’m only supposed to write when I actually have something to say! ;o)

I was hugging on Guinness yesterday evening, when suddenly it popped into my mind how thankful I actually am that Joey brought us this dog. We never would have gotten a dog, if not for Joey bringing one here. Guinness is good for us. He gets us up and out the door every afternoon! He makes me laugh every day. I feel much safer if Joe’s out in the evening, with Guinness here. I think we need to branch out a bit though. We never take Guinness anywhere. Sometimes we should, even if we’re just going for a ride. I’ve heard so many people say that their dogs enjoy rides! I’m going to mention this to Joe. (Later on I did, and he agreed.)

I had started worrying a bit that I might forget to do the things I need to get done in order to have my surgery! I couldn’t remember if there was anything besides bloodwork and an EKG and getting my primary care physician to sign a clearance for me or not....and for some reason, I couldn’t find any paperwork for the bloodwork or EKG! And I looked through the small blue folder I was given, too!

So I called my ENT surgeon’s office this afternoon, found out that yep, the EKG, bloodwork, and seeing my primary care doc (on May 20th) ARE the only things. The woman I talked to insisted that she had given me paperwork for the lab tests, and sure enough, when I looked in the blue folder again, there it was! I guess I overlooked it because it’s not the same kind of lab paperwork I normally am given. I also ventured to ask if, along with Tylenol, I might be allowed to use Icy Hot Patches for sciatica pain, the two weeks prior to surgery. She said I can! So now I am not concerned about pain getting toooo bad. I can use extra strength Tylenol; I can use Icy Hot; I can also use ice and/or my heating pad. Things will be just fine!

I’m oh-so-happy to report that my sisters are getting along just fine now. :o) !! I wrote about them not getting along....or more like, being displeased with each other but only telling ME about it!…awhile back. Sandy’s son Michael coming for a visit might’ve helped get her out of her less-than-stellar state-of-mind....or just the weather getting nicer and nicer, and everything prettier and prettier…who knows? She seemed to be mad at Carol because she didn’t think Carol was doing enough to regain her strength and maintain her health. She kept trying to give advice, and if there is one thing about Carol, it is SHE DOES NOT TAKE ADVICE. When she was in school, one of her teachers phoned our Mom and said, “Your daughter Carolyn is the most stubborn person I have ever seen in my life!” Maybe Sandy finally decided it wasn’t worth worryin’ about! Carol IS doing quite well now, though, SO. I guess that is proof she’s not doing too badly at taking care of herself!

Speaking of taking care of ourselves, Joe and I are STILL eating huge green salads and very lean proteins and veggies or whole grains for dinner, and I am STILL eating leaner and healthier breakfasts! :o) !!

Now I am going to post this, I most sincerely hope, and go shower. Only two more days left of this workweek, and this one (the hardest) is behind us! Have a lovely evening, dear friends!

hugs and blessings,
Nicky

Our dog loves riding in the vehicles but leaves fur behind, so isn't allowed in the front seats.

unless your dog gets carsick, he will love going for a ride. i know daisy likes to go for rides. all i have to say is let's go for a ride and she gets all excited and knows exactly what i mean. i put her leash on and she leads me to the car door. open the door, she hops up and gets into her car seat waiting for me to hook her up to it. and then off we go. she gets new and different smells when we go for rides. when we turn down the drive to the park she gets so excited that i'm fearful she'll jump out of the car! on days i sit and wait for long periods of time for the girls, she'll just curl up in her car seat and take a nap or watch the kids at recess. dogs love to 'go'. they need stimulation just like we do. i get bored being at home day after day and like to get out some. i just figure daisy feels the same.
take care,

have you considered taking Guinness to a water place, I bet he'd love playing in the water, as you know I've always taken my dogs with me when I go to fun places, I even took Dash with me to be with Lala and the baby, basically bc it was cheaper to fly him out with me than to pay someone to come and walk him while the menfolk were at work,

I'm glad you'll be well prepared for surgery, good luck!!

have a great day!!!
