Oh my goodness, I’ve been so busy lately! I can’t believe I’m halfway through my 2nd block already! 25.5 to go haha!
I am enjoying my 2nd externship but I miss externship #1. Everyone is really nice at externship #2 and I like them but I felt like I fit in better at externship #1. As a rather socially awkward person, I felt the least awkward in a new place I have ever felt at externship #1. I think it helped that it was SUPER busy there so there was almost always something for me to do but the personalities there more or less all meshed really well with my own. I was legitimately sad to leave and will definitely be sending them my resume, even though they probably won’t be hiring, when I’m applying for jobs.
I’ve had a number of firsts in the past few weeks. My first successful jugular blood draw on a cat, first cystocentesis on a cat (that was anesthetized), first blood draw on a rabbit....I know there have been others. Yay learning!
I have so much I’d like to write about but I don’t know how much I can/should write about due to patient confidentiality stuff.
Also, I’m sleepy and hungry. And my brain is just not wanting to brain so…I think I’ll wrap this up. Just wanted to check in.
