UPDATE - the massage hurt. Quite a bit. But I'm telling myself it was a 'good' hurt... I know it has to involve pain to loosen up my incredibly tight muscles. She didn't get to my right shoulder till nearly the end (I'd asked her to work on my neck and shoulders, and she also addressed the sciatica in my bad leg) and I went OW OW OW OW every time she touched it. That's the one that has nearly permanent tendonitis and I can't sleep on it. She also asked if I wanted to make an appointment to see the chiropractor... I said I'd think about it. I know a lot of people swear by them, but I've never let anybody touch my spine except my physical therapist. Mama's always told me that chiropractors are actively harmful and I should never go to one... but we'll see. NOBODY is going to mess with my neck though - I know four women who've had strokes after they had their necks 'adjusted' and that's four too many. Massage is as far as I want to go in that area... the $35 offer wasn't one-time-only so I'm going back next Tuesday for another massage. I had a headache when I went in there and I still have a headache now, but it's not as bad. I was hoping the massage would make it go away. But I felt pretty good walking out of there anyway. I came home and had a nap...
