Stolen in Earth and Sky

Here is a clip from my FB page to explain my day because I don’t feel like typing it all over again. What a day, holy moly.

Chelsey and I went for a hike today at the Ashley Reservoir. It was so beautiful and we were out for a good 2 hours. When we returned to her car, we came back to her rear passenger window smashed in and my purse missing. I had my wallet, my phone, my debit and credit cards, my SS card and my license in there, along with some small, personal items that meant the world to me.
What was supposed to be a day of care-free relaxation with my best friend turned into an afternoon of phone calls to various card companies and an hour-long battle with AT&T about what I was going to do about my phone.
It’s now 10 O’clock, I have a splitting head ache, and despite everything that happened, I am incredibly grateful.
The cop that made the report made one thing perfectly clear and that was that the most important thing about all of this is that Chels and I weren’t hurt. What if we were robbed? What if the thief who broke into her car wanted my purse so badly that he’d hurt me, or worse, my baby?
Sitting here, feeling the first small flutters of movement in my womb, I can’t be angry. Everything that was taken can be replaced and it’s just stuff. And me, my best friend, and my baby are all okay. And that is ALL that matters.

And fuck it, I needed a new purse anyway.
