Liz and I have chosen a date for our unofficial wedding. August 1st. Here’s the thing. I married my husband on August 1st. This, of course, is not a coincidence. We decided it would be nice if all three of us shared the same anniversary.
We have found a non-denominational pastor who will perform the ceremony. She understands that it is a polyamorous marriage and that it will not be legal since I am already legally married to my husband. She also understands that the ceremony is just going to be about Liz and me, although I am considering having my husband be my best man.
We’ve talked about titles we are going to use for each other, and we’ve agreed we’ll all use husband and wife, between all three of us. So Liz will even refer to my husband as her husband. She will technically have two husbands, which may cause confusion. My husband and I will both have a husband and a wife, which ought to be less confusing. Wow, just this paragraph is confusing…
The big remaining question is the honeymoon, and if it should just be Liz and me, or all three of us. We’ll figure that out still.
