I’m pregnant! i took a home test last sunday and it automatically came up positive. completely explains the nauseousness and the dizziness. and now that its been confirmed by my OBGYN, i am able to deal with the symptoms better. im eating more throughout the day and smaller portions of things. im taking time to sit and rest (especially during instrument lessons…just tell the kiddos mrs. g is not feeling well and i sit. they dont ask questions) and im taking it easy.
hubby is still a bit shocked. he was pacing around the apartment last week in a panic. we didnt think it would happen so quickly! i am 6 weeks along today, possibly 7. im due around december 13th, just in time for christmas and to take my winter break a little early. we’ve told our immediate family members and some close friends. i wish i could tell everyone, but we need to wait to make sure nothing happens.
i met up with a friend yesterday, who is also pregnant and due in july, to talk about things and we checked out a prenatal yoga class in astoria. we’re going to try to go every saturday if we can. they have a good special, 3 classes for $25. it was nice to talk to someone who is going through it right now. ive been calling my mom a lot too. but with my friend, she is only a couple of month ahead of me and can really remember everything because it just happened. its nice to know that our babies can grow up together, too.
as for work, a few people know, but not many. one para professional jokingly asked me if i was pregnant (another teacher is pregnant and our assistant principal is also pregnant) and i accidentally spilled the beans because i got nervous, so she and the special ed teacher now know. i dont plan on telling my principal until the end of the school year. hopefully, i will be fully hired before i need to tell her. i am also thankful i bought all those button up shirts for my birthday. they dont hug my body and i will be able to wear them for awhile until i really start to show. ive already got a tiny belly. i kind look bloated lol. gonna have to buy some new bras soon, too. oh boy! im debating on when i need to tell my boss at ETM. i think i need to say something sooner than with my principal, especially if i dont get hired DOE…sigh i dont know. my field supervisor is coming in tomorrow for an observation, so i will probably let her know and talk to her about what she thinks i should do.
we didnt think it would happen this quickly. i had my IUD taken out on february 23rd when i went in for my annual check up. i pretty much got pregnant the following week. the doctor had said to us that it might take awhile for us to get pregnant and that my body would need time to regulate. apparently, my body wanted to get going right away and hubby has speedy men, so here we are! we’re not sure what we’re going to do about daycare and we’re both looking for better jobs and we need to find somewhere else to live…possibly getting the house from his father, but that needs major renovations. so, this next year is a huge wait and see! we’ll make the most of it and figure it out as we go.
alright im pooped. its been a long week and the next one is going to be here before i want it to. later!
