It’s Sunday afternoon and my house is so quiet. The cats are both leisurely cleaning themselves and all I can hear is the sound of my fingertips on the keyboard and the clocks ticking.
Tim is fast asleep (I hope) because he’s insane. Last night I received a call from him around 9pm. He told me that he was staying late to work some overtime. I assumed he’d be there till 3 (typically the most the supervisors will give is 4 hours of OT) but no, he tells me he’s staying until 7. And he has to work again today.
So I tucked him into bed, closed the doors, and I’m doing the best I can to keep the house quiet. Our upstairs neighbors aren’t really aware of how to “step lightly” so I keep cringing every time I hear them move. I really hope that Tim is able to get enough sleep. He woke up once at 11 already and I’m hoping he can sleep through till 2. He has to be at work for 3.
I cannot believe how fortunate I am. My husband is willing to do this every weekend that he works, if they’ll let him, until the baby comes. We’re trying to save every penny so that we can afford to pay our bills when my maternity leave comes around and he is going above and beyond what I could have ever expected of him. Last night I literally sat in bed crying because all I could think about was how much he was doing and how little I felt I was. Obviously I know that my horomones are to blame but part of me still feels like I should be doing more. God, I love my husband.
I had a great day yesterday. We had our pictures taken, I drove Tim to work, spent the afternoon with Josh watching hilarious movies and ended the night with an almost 2-hour phone conversation with Chelsey. I slept like shit because I’m not used to sleeping alone, but after I woke up at 5:30 and went to pick up Tim, I went back to sleep from 8-11. So I’m feeling pretty good today.
Once Tim leaves for work, Sadie is going to come over! We’re going to go to the park and get some fresh air. I need to get out of this stuffy apartment! I’m looking forward to just chatting and walking. It’s sunny and 60 degrees out and I am so ready for it to actually start feeling like Spring!
