Warm day here today. First really warm day of spring. The kids have decided on what science projects they are doing. Timmy will be doing a project about the different types of rocks. He has been interested in rocks lately. He went to a class with Boy Scouts about the different types of rocks in this area and has been interested in rocks since then. Aaron is doing his project on lightning and how it develops. Kayla is doing her project on water resources.

Timmy enjoyed his friend’s bar mitzvah. He said the service at the temple was very solemn and quiet. Timmy didn’t realize until he went to the service what an important event a bar or bat mitzvah is for a young person of the Jewish faith. The evening reception was fun. There was a dinner and lots of dancing. The kids did a lot of dancing. Timmy went to the bar mitzvah with his dad and I stayed home with the other kids.

We are reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is a long book! Much longer than the ones we have read so far. From reading the summary Harry is more grown up in this book. He is fourteen and starting high school. He has his first serious crush. The book may be slightly mature for the twins right now, but they can reread it in a year or so and understand it better.

We have gotten out the bikes and gone to the park to do some biking. I have always enjoyed riding a bike. There is a feeling of freedom on a bike.
