STRIKE A POSE in Adventures From Prison

I have some very weird quirks. For some reason, when lying down or standing in place, I tend to contort my body into odd positions. The one I most commonly hold at work is the one my ex-wife and now my prison friends both ended up calling “The Tea Cup Pose.” It doesn’t matter how much I try not to do it, eventually I’ll unconsciously end up with one hand on my hip with an elbow thrust out and the opposite arm resting on a bookshelf, couch, or other raised surface. Both my ex and now my friends spontaneously start singing “I’m a little teapot, short and stout…” It drives me nuts. Then there is the “Superman” (both hands in fists on my hips) that I assume when trying not to pose in strange ways, also to the hilarity of my friends. The other one I do, that they have called “The Twister” is to take my right arm and put it behind my back, palm out, and press it against my lower back. It twists by body oddly to the right which for some reason is comforting to me. Lying down is a whole other set of contortions. I honestly don’t know why I do these things, other than liking how it feels (I also sleep in the Twister position most nights because it relaxes me) and doing it without thought.
It makes me hyperaware lately of how other people stand or sit idly and I’ve found I really am alone. Not even family members do anything similar to what I do. I just don’t have any explanation why each day my body decides to do a Mrs. Potts impersonation. I mean it could be worse, I suppose, each day I could suddenly start doing the YMCA dance or something, but I’d still like to know that I’m not alone in the overly-dramatic pose department! So please, dear readers, share with me your oddest stances or give me insight into mine!
