Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds- Rated R.
Quite a move from Marvel to allow this. Yet, to stay true to the nature of his name, it might be appropriate to give the movie a rating that would reflect on what his name actually means. Then we have Hugh Jackman putting on instagram “one last time” in his Wolverine garb. A ton of speculation has been brought up to this that the message might be that he will be putting an end to his X-Men career with the Apocalypse movie, the next installment in the series. Then, we have Jennifer Lawrence stating that she will be done with the franchise with the next X-Men movie. I guess this means X-Men: Apocalypse will be the end of two heavy-hitters for the X universe franchise.

In other news, DC seems to be making fans happy/pissing them off. Via Deadline, it looks like there will be a new character coming to the television franchise of the DC- Hawkgirl has been cast for some upcoming episodes of Arrow/The Flash. The character will be getting her own spin-off series shorty thereafter. Then we had the reveal of The Atom last week, with the flashy weaponry (but without the shrinking ability- probably doesn’t want to infringe upon the abilities of Ant-Man) and we had the beginnings of Barry Allen (the Flash) moving through the Speed Force to go back in time.

A lot of new developments for the television series seems to be on the way. However, fans of DC are a bit disappointed with the movie franchises not having any continuity with the television shows. Amanda Waller of the Suicide Squad will be recast for the movie version (sorry Amanda Waller of Arrow) along with Deadshot and Boomerang. Maybe disappointed is not strong enough a word. Pissed off might be more appropriate. Especially when hearing Will Smith would be cast as Deadshot.
Not that anyone has anything against Will Smith- it’s just he doesn’t seem like the right guy for the job. He lost a lot of his acting edge with so many years typecast as the kid from Philly in Bel Air, and a rapper on the side.

What all of this will look like in the months and years ahead is up to time, money, and who gets more of both in order to make the decisions. Hopefully, it will turn out for the better rather than taking a dump on the fans of the comic books.
