It’s official, we’re moving to Orange County May 18th! Danny signed his offer letter last week and his start date is May 21st. We’re extremely excited but VERYYYY anxious and stressed. We just moved into our apartment late January and they just opened in October so they aren’t filled yet, especially the 2 bed/2 baths we have so they’re charging us almost $9,000 to break our lease. $3,000 of that is April/May rent so that’s fine, $2,000 is the promotions they gave us when we moved in (1 month free of rent and a little bit extra for a look and lease promotion). Luckily we still have most of that in our balance, and the rest, around $4,000, as a fine. SUCH BULLSHIT!! We have a couple friends that may be interested in taking over our lease so hopefully one of them pull through.
Unfortunately, Danny’s new company will not pay for relocation because there are too many qualified people that already live out there. I personally think that’s shitty but I guess makes sense too? Honestly, I don’t know. It’ll all workout. It just adds to the stress. We also need to move all of our crap out there by ourselves and put a deposit down on a new place. Savings will take a hit, I think. Luckily Danny just has me focusing on finding a job. Said he’ll handle the rest… We’ll see.
In addition, we have our engagement party this Saturday. It’s become more of an event than I thought it’d be and I’m a little annoyed my sisters aren’t helping more. Danny said I need to be a little more vocal on what I need people to do. I just hate asking for favors… OH and picking a GD bridesmaid dress is already driving me up the wall. Jamie (big sister) hates literally every dress I send her. Tai told me my bridesmaids are like a Dove Campaign. All different shapes and sizes (oh and skin colors). Trying to make sure everyone will be comfortable but it’s really tough!!!
Man, oh, man. Moving across the country and wedding planning. I don’t recommend. I know it’ll be worth it though. Thank God Danny is so good at this stuff because I get overwhelmed easily.

April 23rd-27th - Visiting SoCal to hopefully find a new home annnd go to a Country concert festival with some of my SF friends and big sister
May 1st - Last day of work!
May 4th - Engagement photos
Cabo May 14-May 17th - Wedding venue shopping with Danny and my parents!
May 18th - Starting the drive to CALIFORNIA!
May 20th - Get keys to new place/hustle to get settled
May 21st - Danny starts his job - I hope I start mine soon after.
Things to do now until May 18th: Find a J-O-B, find someone to sublease our place, hangout with out loved ones LOTS! 48 more days!
