I woke up late today. I think it may have been a mix between how I slept last night and how late I went to bed. I’ve been trying to be asleep before midnight the past week and last night I stayed up until after 1… I’m incredibly tired today and my tummy hurts. :(
On a positive note, I had a fabulous weekend. Saturday, Tim and I went to visit his parents and talked about baby stuff. I really like his parents but they are weird folks. They’ve lived in the same 2 bedroom apartment throughout all 3 of their children’s lives (their oldest is now 35 or something) with their bedroom in the living room. So the boys had the 2 bedrooms upstairs and as soon as you open the front door WHAM, you’re looking at a queen size mattress on the floor in front of a TV. It doesn’t look trashy or anything… it’s just odd.
His parents are also incredibly paranoid. They’ve got a surveillance camera in their front window pointed at their car at all times and the shades are always drawn. I always get so sleepy when we go over there because it’s always so dark. They’re super nice people they just really don’t get out much. Our conversations consisted of things I should and shouldn’t be eating/doing and all of the various chemicals in chewing gum. I don’t know if I’m short-tempered or if it’s a hormonal thing, but I’m really losing my patience for those conversations.
The visit was short and sweet and then we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up ingredients for dinner. My best friend turned 25 yesterday so we had her over Saturday night for a ham dinner. It was so delicious! I made garlic red skin mashed potatoes, corn in butter sauce, and a honey glazed ham. This kid freakin LOVES ham. Mmmmm.
Yesterday, Tim and I spent the day with our friend Josh. We picked him up around noon and headed to Noho. We had lunch at Osaka (it’s a Japanese Steak House) and I had a friend shrimp tempura roll and Pad Thai. OMGSOGOOD. I’m so glad that Little is letting me eat some of my favorite things again. I was getting pretty tired of fruit and cheese.
After lunch we headed over to a New Age shop where I picked up some beautiful new crystals to help align my chakras. I also got a GORGEOUS piece of Labradorite. If you don’t know what it looks like, Google it. It’s absolutely beautiful.
We headed to the Mercantile shortly after leaving the New Age shop so I could find a birthday present for Chels. I ended up deciding on this adorable elephant soap-stone incense holder and 4 packages of incense. Her living room is decorated with elephants and she’s always got incense burning so I figured it’d be the perfect little gift. It just called out to me when I saw it so I was really pleased to have found it. After the Mercantile we headed over to River Valley Market (it’s a co-op. wicked cool store) so Tim could pick up some more loose-leaf tea. He’s been going crazy for green tea lately so we picked up a bunch in bulk and he loves it.
Josh came home with us and the guys played video games and watched movies for a while. My girlfriend had sent me a text earlier in the day asking if she could come over around 7 so I set up the Temple with incense and candles and she, her daughter and I hung out in there for a few hours and just talked. It was an incredibly uplifting and enlightening conversation that had us laughing, crying, and hashing out old feelings that had been swept under the rug. I’m really glad that she decided to come over and that we were able to talk about so much. She and I have been friends for YEARS and with everything that’s been happening in my life lately, I really want to make sure that the friendships I have remain strong and untainted. We sat in a gorgeous room, filled with positive energy, whispering stories as we alternated holding a sleeping baby. It was enlightening and beautiful and serene. And I am so glad that despite everything that has happened, she has chosen to remain neutral and maintain our friendship. I’m very lucky for that.
She left shortly after 9:30 and the guys were still watching a movie. I sat and watched it with them and when Tim left to bring Josh home, I drew a bath and relaxed with some more candles and incense for a while. When Tim got home, we talked about our weekend, snuggled in bed, and I went to sleep. It was a therapeutic weekend filled with love, good food, and good company. I definitely needed it.
Now it’s Monday. On to another 5 day stretch. I’m so glad that I finally really like my job! I’ve got about an hour before I have to get ready for work, so I think I’m going to do some tarot and read some of my book. :]
Here are some pictures from this weekend!
Me in the car on Saturday. :] I was feeling really awesome that day and the Sun was SO warm.

Hubby and I cooking in our “His and Her” aprons that his mother made us. We’re adorable.

One of the delicious things we made Saturday. This burger was massive and it took me all weekend to eat it. Hahaha.

My pretties that I got on Sunday! The big one on top is Labradorite. <3 <3 <3

My Goddess alter. I placed all of my crystal babies on there last night and cleansed them with Sage and asked the Goddesses to purify them. I felt so empowered after.

And my bath! It was so relaxing until my cat decided 3 TIMES IN A ROW that he was going to jump up on the side, drape his long, fluffy tail into the water, and then freak out and run in circles because he got it wet. He’s adorable, but it didn’t really add to the ambiance.
That’s all for today! Happy Monday, everyone!
