Wall of Death and other absurdity in Day to Day

I was running around all weekend, but it wasn’t bad. I even managed to take the boy to the wall of death motorbike stunt show. I’ve never seen one before. I think this sort of show is quite rare now. I tried to take some pictures, but I didn’t have a proper camera with me, only my phone, so they were a bit rubbish. However, the videos, were quite good. I’ll embed them at the bottom.

There is going to be a near total eclipse over UK on Friday morning. I have bought some eclipse viewing glasses. I bet it’s cloudy, but I hope not.

I went along to nudie night at the swimming pool on Saturday. They fixed the sauna. It was too hot really. I think that’s the first time I’ve been there when everything was working properly. The jacuzzi was also too hot really. I swum 10 lengths. That’s a lot for me.

Here is some ridiculous stuff I have seen in the news in the last few days:

Children’s cartoon Oggy and the Cockroaches, which apparently airs on Nickelodeon, has come come under fire for showing naked breasts in a recent episode. I know, absolutely shocking isn’t it. Apparently one father of an eight year old boy who spotted the breasts was forced to have a chat about the birds and bees with his son as a result. Have a look at the footage here on the Daily Mirror website. Make sure there are no children looking over your shoulder though. We don’t want to turn them into slavering sex beasts before they even reach puberty. Honestly, haven’t these vacuous people got anything more important with which to fill their lives than complain about hardly visible cartoon breasts? Christ, what did they do when breast heeding, blindfold their children?

Astonishingly, Oklahoma is trying to pass legislation that would restrict marriage in the state to “people of faith”. I did actually think this was a spoof article, when I first read it, but alas no. The report in the Independent is incredibly misleading, in fact the state has approved a bill that would only allow marriage licences to be approved by a member of the clergy. It isn’t law however, and it doesn’t look to me as though it will become law any time soon. I don’t understand the US legal system, but it seems that it now has to go to the Senate for consideration where it seems likely to be doomed since there are already claims that it would be unconstitutional. I still find it quite incredible however that any civilized country can even think of trying to restrict marriage to “people of faith”. It’s nothing short of disgusting.
