So I’m taking a break from rushing around trying to get things in order before we go back to see my family tomorrow. Long drive… about 9 hours. I love driving but sheesh.
So I worked from about noon-9 today, come home, pee in the toilet and the thing gets plugged up. Cori swears he didn’t notice or do it (I guess I believe him ?) and the toilet has never plugged before so we get the plunger. Problem is that the plunger is round but the hole in the toilet is more… oblong… so we can’t get a good seal. We literally plunged for 20 minutes until we went out to Meijer (at 9:45) to get an auger. The auger pulled some (gross) stuff out, but the toilet is still plugged. It’s late and I don’t think the landlord is here, plus we are leaving tomorrow anyway but I’d really hate to come back to a still-plugged toilet. We think maybe it’s a problem on the other side, like someone else’s toilet. We can’t figure out why ours is backed up all of a sudden.
Beyond that, I just didn’t write down what I needed to pack (been working the last few days) so now I’m pretty sure I’m going to leave something here. Granted, nothing would be too important (I’m going home, after all) but I’m sure we’ll get an hour out from Cincinnati and I’ll be like “Sh*t ! I forgot –fill in the blank–.”
I just HATE bugging the landlord. He’s totally awesome but… well, for example, he came over on Friday and re-grouted some of the kitchen tile. We avoided standing on it for a good 36 hours and yet the SAME area of grout is still breaking up and I can’t figure out why. So if he comes over, he’s going to see that his grout job is basically undone. And also.. plugged toilets are the worst. I don’t want Mike to see that crap (literally). So yeah. Best timing ever.
