We brought Xueling to the Science Centre today, where I ran into my students (they were escorting some exchange students around). I'm not sure who was more surprised, them or me, but I think I definitely topped everything when, on being asked why I was here, I told them that I was bringing my daughter, and that we had a two year unlimited pass.
Also, since I had my new F 1.7 lens, it seemed a waste note to use it:

The photographer is a more-or-less honorary member of the astronomy club I run-- he's there and he does his work, but it's understood that his focus is on his biology work. The guy on the left is a new member of my astronomy club and my ex-student, and I'm hoping that he can make the cut for the national team next year. The guy in the background is also my ex-student, who's boarding in the school because he's actually Korean
The more alert of you might notice that the guy in the checked shirt in the background, who is also an ex-student, also coincidentally ran into me a bit more than a year ago:

Note: Dude in the bottom right corner just came back from the International Physics Olympiad with a gold medal.
