I am watching the lead-up to the Oscars. Basically wasting time until TWD comes on.
I am shaking my head.
The ridiculous way a bunch of marginally entertaining movies are pumped up until I almost believe the pomp and circumstance.
The self congratulatory way the left coast behaves could be considered insulting.
The moment when Melanie Griffith was asked in front of her daughter whether or not she had seen FSoG. And she answered “No.” Then the follow on “Are going to see it?” “No.”
That could have been more awkward. What were they expecting?
Then they spun it like it was a cool response.
Taya Kyle was a class act.
If American Sniper doesn’t come away with something other than “Best sound mixing” I will be convinced that it is a rigged game.
The number of boring as shit movies that are up for multiple awards astounds. The Theory of Everything? The Imitation Game?
I don’t know enough about Birdman to have an opinion.
NPH opens with a joke about the “whiteness” of the nominees.
Because “Selma” didn’t get any?
Maybe “Selma” is boring as shit. Everyone knows what happened in Selma. Just because Oprah is in it, and paid for it, doesn’t make it entertaining.
News flash:
There are eight movies up for best picture. 13% of the population is African American. 1/8 = 12.5. Some years no movies starring Black Americans will get nominated.
Goddamn I am so tired of identity politics. And Hollywood.
