I do not want to become overly dramatic about the frigid temperatures here and the pipes that have frozen in both my house and the houses of my neighbors. As the plumber told me yesterday it is not just the 20 degree temperature that is causing the damage but is the combination of the freezing wind hitting the exterior of my house.. These pipes are in an exterior wall and that makes them very vulnerable.
I had two men working on the pipes yesterday and they managed to thaw all piped except those in the back of my clothes washer. The tool they used is an 18’ by 18”metalic box. It plugs into the baseboard outlets. The boxhaswo long cables that have grips on the ends and resemble the clips of a set of Jumper Cables. The machine is clamped to the cold or hot pipes of my system and the same of the box. The box will send any current needed to thaw the pipe through the clamps. It worked to free up the shower after about minutes of time. The washer and dryer are n a closet and stacked with washer on the bottom and dryer on top. No results yet.
I was curious about the box and when it had been unplugged I took a close look and right on the device was the legend
