My title is the truth. I don't know HOW to NOT be busy.
I cook and bake almost EVERY day. I clean the entire house every day (not DEEP clean, but I do a once over at LEAST once a day). I obviously take care of the kids.
I don't really get to eat, shower, or sleep, though :p
I'm reading at least 2 books right now -- the first being "Healing & Preventing Autism" by Jenny McCarthy -- REALLY good book. And then I checked out of the library "Special Diets for Special Kids." And i'm waiting for "The Autism Book" to come in the mail.
A friend on Twitter that I was chatting with the other night offered to make a donation to me to help Joshua with some of the things that I just can't afford right now. He sent me SIXTY DOLLARS so I could order vitamins and supplements online. $60! That's going to set us up for almost 3 months and i'm SO happy. I placed the order and am waiting for it to arrive hopefully this weekend. I also ordered elderberries so I can make an elderberry syrup for the winter (if you don't know what it is, google it. It's one of the BEST natural remedies for preventing and curing flus and colds -- far better than any cold meds or flu shots!).
And then, on Wednesday, I pulled out all of my Calendula flowers that I grew this past summer and have been drying for months and separated BY HAND WITH TWEEZERS the petals from the seeds (they're heirloom seeds, i'm saving them for next year!). I made a calendula (one of the most healing medicinal herbs out there) and lavender (soothing! calming!) salve with organic coconut oil and beeswax. My one batch made a nice size jar, so I thought to myself -- if I can make ANOTHER batch and pour it into individual little containers, I can SELL THIS! It's SO fabulous, my poor hand was red, itchy, eczema-ish and SO chapped and NOTHING has been working. I've been putting my salve on it for less than 48 hours and it's ALMOST GONE now.
I'm thinking of making up my own recipe for a homemade "Vick's Vapor Rub" salve, too. But with only natural ingredients, in the form of a nice salve. So, it'll be totally safe for babies, too. :)
I'm supposed to meet up with a friend to get some supplies tomorrow and then i'll start a new batch. I've had a decent amount of interest on Instagram already :) I'm thinking the smallest containers (chapstick tubes, maybe?) i'd sell for $3.50-ish and the larger ones $6 or $6.50. I know people who sell it for even MORE, and they just BUY their herbs in bulk -- I GREW mine from seed, cared for, harvested, dried, and now infuse the oils myself. So, it can't be TOO cheap or it's not worth it. Any of the money I make off of it will 1) go to purchase more supplies so I can make more ;) and 2) go towards Joshua's doctor's visits, supplements, vitamins, finding a naturopath, and strict diet.
Plus, I have fun doing it. Oh and maybe i'd spend a few bucks on some new cross stitching stuff, because I have some serious projects in mind ;)
See? Busy. Always busy. But I need to be doing a few things because if not, I sit here, sucked into researching ALL DAY LONG and it's SO DEPRESSING.
I'll post the link over to our fundraiser again -- Because 3 donations have already made it possible for me to buy the supplements we need, and it's helping us tremendously. Even one girl gave $5, and I can't even say how much every single $1 helps.
