Cats and Sick Days in Just this. (Vol. 2)

I have this awful habit of coming in to work sick. This stems, in part, from the on-going sub shortage and also from my own stubbornness. I am eternally convinced a good night’s sleep and some chicken soup are all I need to overcome illness. It’s absolutely magical thinking, and I have significant data that demands I reevaluate this theory. And yet …

I showed up today, all gravel-voiced and peaked. Croaked through the math lesson (comparing polygons using Venn diagrams - HOW am I supposed to willingly miss THAT, I ask you). Wrote sub plans before school & during Library.

The noon-start sub job I put in at 6:45 this morning NEVER filled. Fortunately, my boss pulled someone to cover, but jeez. I headed straight for the doctor’s office; hours & several tests later: strep is a no (yay); contagious virus is a yes (boo) and I should stay home and rest.

The cats have been taking turns holding me down, sub plans for tomorrow are done & emailed, and this evil sore throat (tomorrow is Day 4) can die in a liquid Tylenol fire. If there is such a thing.
