While reading the bill of rights, it puzzled me that religion is of personal choice, yet remains controversial in topic. They say this country is a free country, yet people rob us everyday of our freedoms. One of those freedoms is the freedom of and from religion; that’s the first amendment right in our constitution. There have been riots, burning of the Bible, rituals of and against religion. Republicans and democrats are very different in a lot of ways-but we are the United States of America nonetheless. I feel we should all respect each others’ feelings and, like john Lennon said, ‘live as one.’. There are many, no, thousands of religions. A Jew is not a Jew if and only if it is of religious persuasion or origin. Religion is a very difficult to persuade, at that. Everyone has there view-it is only relative. Does that mean there is a right and one true religion-i would hope that everyone would respond ‘no.’ Yet I believe in a god that is not your god, but in some other deitie. So why are there so many religions through out the whole earth; I cannot say. What I will say, quoting Martin Luther King Jr. is, ‘one day we will all be living in harmony…one day we will be treated by not the color of our skin, but the content of our behavior.’ That was his dream, and it is the same dream for millions of us. I can only imagine that day.
freedom of and from religion in what is art?
