Hangover in Pregnancy

When I woke up this morning, I instantly felt the almost uncontrollable urge to vomit. The first thought that went through my brain in my half-waking stupor was, “God god woman, what did you drink last night?”

Nope. Just pregnant.

Thanks to the suggestion of a girlfriend of mine, I started keeping ginger chews next to my bed. I popped one of those suckers into my mouth and just let it sit there. They’re REPULSIVE if you chew them, but they’re bearable if you just let them dissolve. So I just laid there, letting the ginger do it’s job. I don’t feel nauseous anymore, but I’m certainly not hungry.

I’m taking this morning to do absolutely nothing. I managed to wake up with my alarm (the exhaustion has also set in) so I am going to enjoy my cup of coffee, write in my journals, work on some tarot, and take my time. I’m not rushing through anything today.

Last night on IMC was hell until 8pm. I was paired with 2 of the worst nurses on the floor and ended up with 9 patients by the end of the night. I was the only one answering bells and finally got to a point where I went up to Carol (the devil incarnate) and told her, “I don’t have to do this for much longer, and I’m glad I wont be a nurses slave anymore.”

She didn’t say anything. In fact, she probably didn’t even hear me. She’s got super-bitch selective hearing. I really, really don’t like her.

But yesterday is in the past and the past doesn’t matter! I wont be floated today and even if I have the worst night ever on my home floor, I just have to remember that I wont be doing this job for much longer.

I’m almost free!
