The trailer for Ant Man came out a few weeks ago and the whole community is buzzing with the amount of epicness (yes, that’s a word) that this trailer contained. For such a concept as belittled as Ant Man (no pun intended), some would have expected a throw-away movie that wouldn’t do much to affect the Marvel Universe, when compared to giants such as Thor and Iron Man.
Boy, we got a surprise.
At last count, the Ant Man trailer was viewed 29 million times as reported by Entertainment Weekly just a week after its Tuesday debut. As of today, just the top hit alone on Youtube is over 3 million views, with millions of views of other videos associated with the trailer below it, and then the commentaries and the analytical videos, etc. With that, 29 million seems to be a small number when considering the sheer amount of crazy that people are going through over this movie.
As the last movie of Marvel’s phase 2 movies, which also included Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, the world of Scott Lang and Hank Pym will usher in such titles as Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and two parts (Yes, two parts) of the Avengers: Infinity Wars saga.
I know I chose the right beat.
I just peed my pants a little.
