My school week is half over! And by that, I mean I had class today and I’ll have class tomorrow. That’s it for the week! Whee!! My schedule will start picking up a bit more after this week, but I don’t have a week where I have to be there every day until the second week in February.
Which is actually quite good as I’ve been a bit under the weather for the past few days. I’ve been having sleep anxiety apparently, leading to some intense jaw clenching while sleeping. As a result, my top and bottom molars on the right are not pleased. Usually, when I clench my TMJ acts up which is actually preferable to this tooth pain nonsense. I couldn’t get in at my dentist until this coming Monday, but I’m managing with Tylenol (neither aspirin nor Advil touch the pain, which makes me think it’s nerve related vs. inflammatory, which, along with it being both top and bottom jaws, make me less inclined to think it’s an infectious process so…yay for that, I guess) and Orajel (which I cannot recommend highly enough. It has benzocaine in it and it works SO WELL). And I bought myself an over the counter bite guard thingy to wear when I sleep, which I typically end up taking out in the middle of the night because it’s uncomfortable. Hoping my dentist will custom fit me for a more comfortable one. Oh, and cloves. Mmm…
And this weekend my lower GI tract decided it didn’t like me and, while most of the “excitement” has passed, it’s still angry and grumbly whenever I eat. There’s a lot of GI stuff going around so it’s not surprising. So basically, the top and bottom parts of my digestive tract have just decided to be jerks. Grrr....
Aside from the above things, my weekend was pretty good. On Saturday I hung out with Lauren and Sarah for the first time in a very long time. They’ve both been so busy with rotations. We wandered the mall, ate, bought hair supplies to bleach Sarah’s hair, went back to Lauren’s house where Sarah did hair stuff. It didn’t quite turn out how she intended as her hair had been dyed several times before and she didn’t really know what she was doing. We went to Target and she bought a box of hair color to dye over it, but I think she chose too light so it didn’t really make a huge difference. Ah, well. She didn’t seem that upset and it was pretty amusing. We watched some funny things on TV, ate pizza, and just generally hung out. Even though I hadn’t hung out with them in quite some time, it really didn’t feel like that much time had passed, which was really pleasant, especially after all my anxiety about joining a new class. It was good!
Most of the rest of the weekend was spend being lazy. Aaron and I watched the 1st season of Penny Dreadful. Overall I enjoyed it. It had some pretty good acting and gorgeous cinematography. It seemed like it was a lot more character development and back story than actual plot but it was done in a compelling way. Some moments that were meant to be suspenseful, shocking, or scary made me laugh a lot. Plus Josh Hartnett is in it, which always makes me excited. Apparently I used to play with him as a child on occasion as he was good friend with some of my older cousins. Weeeeiiird. I don’t remember it at all.
I don’t really feel like there’s anything of substance in this entry, just a lot of rambling. So…here’s a picture of Harvey sleeping.
