Tonight I randomly decided to look up Canadian places that send subscription boxes out each month. I am not too much into clothes or makeup so I ended up ordering a small one for Cody from a company called Candy Kid. The first month was only $2.95 U.S. and for that he gets a small bag of all different kinds of candies to enjoy. I thought it would be a nice treat for him. I will make a huge deal about it when it arrives and we will share it. It shall be fun :) Little kids are easily amused lol. And I happened to have $6 U.S. sitting in my paypal account so essentially it was free.

For myself, I ordered a sample size box of NatureBox which delivers different kinds of healthy snacks to try. Each month is normally $20 and you get 5 large snack bags. The cool part is that they have 100 different snacks on their website so you can choose which ones you want sent to you. I know that makes it less of a surprise but I like that option since me and the kids can be picky about some stuff and I was able to choose a nice variety of snacks to be sent to us. I think you can choose to be surprised for one of the 5 snacks if you like. I will try the trial box and then one monthly box and see what I think of it. I love getting stuff in the mail and rarely buy myself a treat so I thought, why not? I will definitely share them with the kids and see what kinds of healthy things I can get them to eat lol.

So I don’t think I mentioned it but I got in an accident on December 27th. It was a stupid mistake. I was alone in the van and was pulling into a parking spot at the mall and I misjudged the turn and hit the van beside me. It only left a few scratches on the other van but my passenger side front light was smashed and the bumper was a bit crunched. I honestly had NO IDEA what to do because the owner of the other van wasn’t there. These 2 older men were walking by and told me I had to call the Collision centre and report it. So I wrote down the license plate number and went home and called my insurance company. Turned out I didn’t need to call the Collision centre at all, my insurance company took care of it all. As much as it sucked, I got soooooo lucky for a number of reasons. One was that our car insurance has a stipulation where your first at fault accident will not affect your insurance at all. They say “your first at fault accident is on us” as weird as that sounds lol. The second thing was that I had to have both my kids’ car seats completely replaced because you have to do that no matter what kind of accident your vehicle it’s in. My insurance company asked me the make/model’s of my current car seats and the value and they sent me a cheque for that amount. Well, I got lucky in that case because I got a gift card for Walmart and Babies r us for Christmas so I used those to pay for the car seats. I paid $50 myself and the insurance company sent me $350 for my car seats. We only had to pay the deductible for the damage on the van which was $500 so really I only had to pay $20 and my husband paid half (separate bank accounts) so I only paid $100 total for the whole accident. Not bad at all! We had a rental van for a few days which was also free but luckily they fixed it quickly because the van was awful. It slid everywhere and seemed sooooooooo unsafe. But yeah, anyways....at least that’s all taken care of now. Oh and another bonus was that I was able to buy both the new car seats on Boxing day sales so they were a great price and Cody needed an upgrade soon anyways so it’s all good. They have gorgeous new car seats now. An Evenflo Maestro for Cody and an Evenflo Sureride for Miles. And they all lived happily every after....lol
