Friends in Ups and Downs

Despite all my efforts in the realms of writing and how well I can do with that if I apply myself, there doesn’t seem to be much I can do about Friends. You see, my wife is my best friend and all and I get along with her family when things aren’t tense but I can’t honestly say its ever helped me towards making friends. So, sadly, I find myself in the role of an ambitious yet overly lonely writer. And, honestly its a humble and interesting existence - sometimes, however, I wish I did have friends to share and talk with. But, at times I can only imagine the complications something like that might bring to my life as it is.
