Do you ever write an entry and then realize how much stuff you forgot to mention? Yeah I totally did that with my last entry. More about Christmas....neither of my kids had any interest in seeing Santa so we didn’t do the whole them sitting on his knee thing this year. I knew Miles would scream and whenever Cody saw him in the mall he would give him a wide berth and look at him from the corner of his eye so I was like no thanks lol. I don’t need pictures of my kids crying. Also, I was thinking at 3.5 that Cody would understand all about Santa this year. He did to some extent but explaining the whole thing where he delivers gifts and the reindeers fly him around and stuff went a bit over his head. All he cared about what that Santa was going to bring him presents. He kept saying “NEW TOYS!!” in the days leading up to Christmas and looking really excited lol.
On Christmas day Cody was so excited to tear into all his gifts but it was overwhelming because he had sooooo many presents (like probably 20 just at Mike’s grandma’s) so he just kept opening and opening gifts and barely glancing at what they were lol. I was like “Cody! Hold on!! Stop! Let’s look at what you got!” lol. Kids! And then when he opened everything he just wanted to open more so I let him open Miles’ (who obviously at 16 months had no clue) and then some of mine. At a certain point he didn’t want to open any more and looked tired and grumpy. I was a bit annoyed at that because I was like “Cody, you just got all these amazing gifts that people picked out for you, how can you be grumpy?” but then I reminded myself he’s a kid and this was not something we normally do so he was overwhelmed and not sure what to do. Obviously he plays with a lot of the new stuff now and I’ve been showing him it all gradually. It’s fun! Our main toy for the boys from Santa was a tall car ramp thing with multiple ramps. They seem to enjoy that although they play the most with a new toy bus they got.
Let me list what they got that I can remember and you’ll see how we got way too much stuff. This is including what we got them: car ramp, 20ish new dinky cars, 10 new books, living sand, probably 10 outfits each, car with remote control, board game for Cody (haven’t opened yet....something about a beehive), extra hats and mitts, bubble bath, sled, more thomas trains, flash cards, a movie, a school bus, gift cards to toys r us, 4 different kinds of bath toys, new hockey stick, footballs, baseballs, new kid dishes, way too much chocolate and candy, a bowling set, interactive books that make sounds, a stacking toy, several sets of legos and megabloks, this toaster musical toy thing..........and yeah.. you get the point. A lot!
Oh and on the 26th when we went to my uncles to visit my extended family Miles was playing for a bit but then he was really feverish and clingy. I gave him some medicine and he was okay just tired and clingy so I carried him around most of the day and he actually fell asleep on me which never happens these days. Poor guy! Couldn’t believe my kids got sick right around Christmas when they haven’t been sick in a while.
I’m so busy these days I barely get a chance to go on prosebox and for some reason I can’t access it from my work anymore :( I swear I am going to catch up on my favorites’ entries though!! I miss you guys :)
Anyways....I will leave you with a family pic we got my brother to take of us at Christmas. Cody is 3.5, Miles is 16 months and I realized we didn’t have a family picture of us since Miles was BORN so yeah.....it was time lol. I think it’s cute :)
