On Friday afternoon I found out I didn’t get the job, and while I’m disappointed, I’m determined to learn. I’m considering requesting feedback, not from a place of frustration but as a genuine chance to refine my interview skills. Every setback can become a stepping stone and if I understand when I went wrong, I can improve.
Saturday, after a morning gym session, I drove to visit a friend, bringing lunch along. We had Persian food (my highlight was a pine nut and spinach fatayer) and finished with baklava as a treat. Then we walked the dog and had a long yap session.
Today I made cinnamon ice cream—my first time using my ice cream maker. It’s currently firming up in the freezer, as I prefer my ice cream hard. I was surprised by the egg yolks in the recipe, but it turned out really well. My next goal is mastering mint chocolate chip; if I can nail that, I’ll be thrilled.
I’ve started preparing for my trip to Florence: journey starts on Friday. We’ll pick up a car at the airport and drive to our villa (with a pool: we booked it back in Jan). The forecast is around 19/20 degrees—pleasant, if not scorching hot. I sorted out my swimwear, shorts, and 2/3 dresses this morning, but I’ll pick up a few more t-shirts in the next day or two from M&S. I’m looking forward to the change of scene.
