“The sun is slowly fading in the western sky.
Sometimes it takes forever the day to end.
Sometimes it takes a lifetime, sometimes I think I’ll never see the sun again.”

Back to rain. Again.

This time of the year when the sun does deem to show his shiny face it is 20 degrees above the horizon and partially clocked in clouds and haze.

But the solstice is past. The days just get longer from now.

I wish I could go to sleep and wake up in early May. Because we’ve got months of the most awful weather ahead of us here at the end of the universe.

Things have taken an awkward twist with Cassie. We chatted a few time on FB, and I called on Sunday. I got a terse “I’m not in a mood to talk.” After an hour of facebook chatting.

Alarm bells much?

I’m not leaning in again. Just doesn’t make sense. My life is simple and quiet and nice. I don’t need yet another weird schizophrenic acting chick in my life.

Been there. Done that.

Break break.

I am convinced I make the best marinara on the planet. I made a batch today. I made a mistake and used no salt added crushed tomatoes then spent hours adjusting the seasoning. Then I let it cool off then re-heated.

Perfect! Slightly Fra Diavolo. The cheeses in the lasagna will cover some of that. My family has a bit of a dainty palate.

Up with the dawn (and the thunder and lightning of a weird winter) I’ll get the lasagna put together and do the first half of the cooking between doing school work.

Off to pick up Beanie just in time for supper. The lasagna will be finished at my parent’s house.

Then home. I have “A Christmas Story” programmed to be recorded by the DVR.

Christmas day will be very quiet.
You couldn’t get me out of the condo on Friday with a chain fall and the jaws of life. Full moon+Christmas=insanity. I have seen more stupid driving tricks in the last week than I have in the last 50 years.

Merry Christmas!
