There was a moment where we both forgot we were sitting across from each other.
It was a wonderful evening, somewhere during the five-course teppanyaki dinner. We had time. Time to talk about our lives, our feelings, the paths that led us here.
At one point she laughed, and I caught a glimpse of her gums. I didnt really notice it then. It was just a feeling that moved through me, something I only remembered later. A softness in her.
For a second, I felt the child in her. Not in a dramatic way. Just in the way she wasnt holding anything back. No tension.
There was no impression to manage, no direction to steer the evening toward. Just two people sharing a moment, enjoying what was there.
It felt light.
