Tuesday:

Hm. Didn’t have my meeting with Boss this morning. She had to take her dogs to the vet. We have rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Now I have her from 9 until lunchtime…whenever that may be. I seriously think she’s avoiding me. And to be quite honest, I’ve been sort of avoiding her too. I am filled with dread before each and every meeting that I have with her. Seems most of the rest of her staff is too.

Sadly, I’ve just been informed that one of my favorites in my little division over here is leaving us. He just couldn’t take it anymore. Wanted out from under Boss’s passive-aggressive thumb before she axes us all and trades us in for new, fresh, outside meat. He’s smart. He’s moving to another area within the company. But it really bums me out because I was all excited to finally get to do some business traveling with him. He and I were going to Vegas together to a convention next month. We had it all planned out, down to sharing a car service to the airport! But the big bummer is the fact that he won’t be going to Europe with us in March. I was so looking forward to hanging out with him in the great little cafés that he’s already scoped out. Now (if I don’t get canned first) it will just be Boss, me, and a new fresh-meat ass-kissing guy. How much fun can that be? I’m seriously going to miss Robert. Wah. And I’m seriously getting more and more nervous about my job here by the minute.

Who knew it could get so whacked-out so quickly?

This morning:

Seems to be a theme happening here. I go to work and write half an entry because I can’t really get on OD (although I peeked yesterday because I was at work until almost 8:30). Then I come home and die because it’s late. So I get up early to finish my entry. Not sure if I like this way or not. But here it is anyway.

Yesterday must have been State Of the Union Day. Not only did Bush do his thing, but our CEO addressed his throng via inter-company direct broadcast. We sat in Boss’s office and watched the TV from 12:45 until 6! We watched a series of different business plans and big wigs blah, blah, blahing. Then around 4:30, CEO started talking. CEO is quite dynamic and inspirational. I was almost getting into the whole spirit of the situation until, at the end, he started talking of layoffs and the like. Then I got a little queasy.

I was at the gym doing my cardio and being chatted up by Bill during Bush’s speech, so I didn’t get much out of it. They had it on the TV fairly close to the elliptical machine I was on, but the sound was down, and I couldn’t make out all of the words on the subtitle thingy. Plus, Bill came over about ¾ way through my workout and started in on how sex burns 250 calories per session! It was a little distracting.

So I’m halfheartedly trying to piece together all the info from yesterday and process it into something I can use. Obviously, the only thing that really caught my attention during these speeches is the sex/calorie remark from Bill! Sad, isn’t it?

I’m still wracking my brain about the contents of my wallet. I canceled my credit cards and have already started to get new ones, but I just remembered another one that I need to call about today. I called all three credit bureaus and put out a fraud alert in my name. I hope it’s not too late. I have impeccable credit…or should I say had. I hope the asshole who took my wallet is also a dumbass and didn’t try to fuck with my credit. The fraud alert means it will be harder for me to get a loan or credit because they will have to do more checking, but I don’t care if it keeps other people from messing with it. But as I said, it could be too late because it was stolen almost a week ago. I just called last night because someone e-mailed me the phone numbers.

The price of being careless, I guess. Lesson learned.

Okay. And now it’s that time I’ve come to dread each and every morning: time to get ready to face Boss. Bleah. It shouldn’t be this way. It’s just wrong.

But it’s my responsibility to make it right.

So off I go…
