Renewal in Open Diary 2001-2018 (Pre-Prosebox)

So I renewed my OD subscription. The little yellow box was nagging me to death. Plus it told me I only had one more day to renew! I’d been thinking about not renewing at all. Thinking about it so much that I’ve started another diary on FOD. It’s the same shit, mind you, just over there on FOD. Even contemplated moving all of my OD+ entries back over to FOD. But guess what? I got lazy and didn’t want to do it. Worth the 20 bucks? I don’t know. But I’ve blown 20 bucks on much, much worse, lemme tell ya.

Like two of those mind-fuck drinks at the bar on the corner. Yeah, the ones that make me feel like holy hell afterwards. Or five of those lattes from the coffee place around the same corner. I’m enjoying a homemade latte right now…and another’s on the way! There’s two down right there! Hey! I’ll be like, making money pretty soon!

Whatever. I’ve renewed. So there.

The curtains that I had to order the other day came UPS yesterday! Hooray! I’ll have the living room draped this morning!! I had to get more screws and anchors so that I can hang bedrooms #1 and #2’s window coverings as well (the ones I had in my last apartment). That leaves me with the sewing part. Got the fabric to make the café curtain in the bathroom. But I don’t feel like doing that this weekend. And I need to get fabric for the dining room. No clue what I want to do there. And then, something reallllly funky for my kitschy kitchen! Thinking about leaving the sunroom curtainless. The only other thing that I might do is something really light and sheer. Gotta have my sunlight.

That’s my window update for the week. Like you really wanted to know.

Someday. Someday. I’ll post photos. But alas, my mucho expensivo fancy pants digital camera is in the electronic hospital. It got very, very sick over the holidays. It made some awful gurgling noises and just shut down. I’m so very sad. I told the camera doc that I really needed it back before my trip to NY next week. That it was ultra urgent because I use that camera for work (which is true). But I’m also excited to get some snaps of Best Bud and her hub and Canuk and me. I hope that whatever’s wrong with the camera is something really, really simple. And a very quick fix. My parts are still under warranty, but labor’s $48 an hour!

In addition to NY, it looks like I’ll be going to LA the following week (RWS, I’ll let you know the details as I get them)! There’s a convention that my counterpart is attending, and she wants me to go with her. She’s tons of fun, and is from LA and is so looking forward to it…so it should be another great trip. Guess I’ll need to find and LA boy to tease!! I kid, of course (sort of).

But it looks like I won’t have a laptop for another month, so updates from mid to end January might be few and far between. That’s okay. I hope to have lots of stuff to document in between! And that’s better than these boring day-to-day entries anyway, right?

I guess I’m just resting up for a wild and wooly next few weeks. Right after I get back from LA, I’m going to have to put together a HUGE presentation. Plus, yesterday, one of my areas asked for me to create some extra visuals and propaganda for their meetings in February. These two deadlines are falling pretty much on the same date. Aarrgghh!

But this is what I wanted. And it’s still a dream job. I’m sure I’ll update this statement in a few short weeks!

So yeah. Resting. For the last two nights in a row, I’ve been in bed and asleep by 9:30! Not sure what’s up with that, but I feel like I’ve finally caught up on my sleep. Maybe now I can face the world a bit more positively.

I want to go for a long bike ride today, but I’m not exactly sure where to go. There’s a trail that starts really close to where I live, but I’ve driven by it and it looks like mostly joggers and dog walkers. Bikers seem to ride on the road. I don’t really like to ride on the road, but I may try it today.

Okay. I feel motivated now. Two lattes down, lots of drapes to hang, a bike that’s calling my name, and an entry now finished.

Here’s to a great weekend!
