Sunday morning and I’m blue.

The weekend’s events haven’t really fulfilled expectations. I guess that’s what I get for having expectations, eh?

Yesterday’s set up was a disaster. I was supposed to meet my friend Judy at Anthropologie at 2:00 yesterday. She would be bringing Mr. Set-Up with her so we could all wander the art fair together and then grab lunch. Okay. So I went to the designated meeting spot and looked for Judy. No Judy. So I walked into Anthropologie and started looking around because, well, it is Anthropologie.

Soon, a man/ape walked up to me and asked, “Excuse me, but aren’t you [Ginger]?”

Um. I thought this couldn’t possibly be him. He’s strange and not with Judy. But I admitted that yes, I was [Ginger]. That was probably my biggest mistake.

He told me that Judy wouldn’t be making it and didn’t she call me to tell me that? Uh…nooooooo, as a matter of fact, she didn’t call me to tell me that. Bitch. So there we were. Just kind of looking at each other. I can’t imagine how and why Judy would think that we’d be good together. It was only later when I figured it out.

I’m not going to go into detail here, because he’s really not worth the time and energy, so I’ll just get right to the point: he’s the biggest energy vampire I’ve ever met. In the course of about an hour and a half (lunch), he sucked all the life right out of me. He called himself an “info junkie” or somesuch. Basically, the man is so full of trivia that I’m surprised he hasn’t exploded yet. His side of the conversation was rapidfire and took me so off guard that I pretty much shut down. He asked me a bazillion questions and in the end, I was using one-word replies. Ugh. It was horrific.

By the time lunch was over I literally had to go home and take a nap! I was so drained. I haven’t felt that way since the LDL days. He was an energy suck too, but nowhere close to Mr. Set-Up.

I bet you money that Mr. Set-Up forced this on Judy…that he bugged her and nagged her and picked at her to find someone to go out with him that she finally caved. She found a sucker (me) who doesn’t know him (big city/small town phenomenon, remember), set us up, and then RAN! I suppose she thought that we might hit it off because we both have pretty creative jobs, but that’s the only thing we have in common.

I’m glad it was over pretty quickly. I suppose I shouldn’t be disappointed, but I’m kinda bummed.

The rest of Saturday was pretty much shot. Went out with the girls, but I’m tired of listening to Jill whine and complain. I won’t put up with that. And I didn’t. Noting too exciting happened. I like Jen a lot. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I love that. She, Lyn and I broke off from the others. But I was bummed that Lyn is going back to London for another month. She leaves today. I wanted to hang out with her more.

Better go. Lots to do. I decided to rearrange pretty much my whole apartment yesterday and what’s left to do is overwhelming. It looks like a bomb went off in here. I’m going out to avoid the situation until later…
