So. I sent AtH an apologetic text that went unanswered. Maybe he doesnt get texts. Im kind of hoping so because (of course!) I ran into him in the lobby of the building as I was getting home yesterday evening. He gave me a big hug and asked me how I was doing.
Im dying, I said, and he smiled his beautiful smile and laughed, and it was all washed away when he asked me if I wanted to go to breakfast this morning.
Yes!
Just got back from breakfast. I so like him, but its sooooooo dangerous because of the proximity and circumstances. I found out more about his crazy marriage and the fact that everythings so recent and fresh. And he also told me that he went on a date last nightwhich was a dud, but still. Im glad he said something. I can tell hes backing me down, and as much as that bums me out, its really the smart thing to do.
I should be thrilled that I have such a great neighbor, eh? Its just that Ive never been so attracted to a neighbor before, and I will be so jealous the first time I run into him and some other woman. Ugh. Guess well cross that bridge when it slaps us across the face.
In other lofty news, both neighbors on either side of me had quite the eventful Friday night, much to my displeasure. I really, REALLY wanted to catch up on my sleep, but by 12:45, the neighbor to my right was cranking up the bass so loud that the windows, floors, walls, and my bed were all rattling to the beat. I didnt even think anyone lived there. I put on my robe and marched out to the hallway, but when I approached the door and heard laughter, I wondered if I really wanted to face that kind of music. Not a great way to meet a new neighbor, so I went back inside my place. I tried, I really did, to go back to sleep, but there was absolutely no way in hell. I didnt want to be a narc, but it was the most god-awful noise I think Ive ever heard. So I called the front desk. It took them about 30 minutes to finally quiet down, but eventually, beautiful silence.
Until about 3:30, when the neighbors to my left (you know, Window Rapper and Yelping Girl?) started up. I think it was an off night for those two, though. Yelping Girl was fairly un-screamy, and the sex soundtrack music was soooooo quiet compared to Death Metal on the other side. I found it almost relaxing, and it actually lulled me back to sleep.
So back from breakfast, and I just took a quick catnap.
Speaking of cats, I need to get ready to interview a new cat sitter. Im leaving on the first of FIVE trips on Monday. Yippee!
