In Amsterdam right now…just had breakfast with a guy I was dared into meeting yesterday. Where does the gumption come from? I mean, do you realize that I got bad marks early on in school because I was so painfully shy?
Regardless, I’m glad my colleagues challenged me because I now have a new, fascinating friend who travels all over the place as well! Of course, he lives in New York and will be in my city when I’m gone, but you never know when paths might cross again.
Trip’s been great so far. Bonding with my co-crazies. Found the most fantastic Thai place, had fritjes on the street, got kicked out of a retail store because I got busted taking photos (peed my pants a little…long story for later, maybe). But didn’t participate in the smokefest last night because of my Lent promise. Doesn’t mean I didn’t cruise the coffeeshops with them.
Leaving for Paris this afternoon. Will be there only one day, then off to London. Better go pack. Again.
