Long Overdue in Open Diary 2001-2018 (Pre-Prosebox)

Started an entry a week ago. Updated and updated almost every day, but still didn’t feel like I had a real entry pulled together, so I just figured I’d scrap it and start over from scratch.

I do miss writing entries.

I never got my laptop fixed because Grrrrr is letting me borrow his, but again, I can’t write entries on his comp! Perhaps I can figure out a way to post via emailing and then posting through my Treo. How complicated!! Until then, I guess I’ll continue posting from the office (dangerous, I know!!).

So. What’s happening in my world? Plenty!

I guess I’ll bulletize for ease:

  • Around the World in 16 Days! I’m taking a 16-day business trip starting Wednesday (the 21st). Now, normally taking such a long business trip is one thing (long and tiring). But this is no ordinary trip, and I’m going with no ordinary person. That’s right—Boss Party Pants and I are going to Sydney! And then Tokyo!! And then (thankfully), we will break off and I will go to Barcelona and then London before heading back to the good old U S of A. That is, if I survive the Boss Party Pants leg of the trip! I’m trying to figure out what kind of drugs I can take with me so that I can keep up with her ultra-fast pace, her heavy-duty drinking, and her general spazzy-ness. Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE Boss Party Pants. I LOVE her! We get along famously!! It’s just that her energy level is like…well, I don’t know what…someone on major amounts of speed or something. I had to send little prayers heavenward every few hours on my last couple of trips…and that was when we just spent a few days together in London or Tokyo. This time, it’s a whole WEEK of non-stop Party Pants. By the time I get to Barcelona, I might be dead. I’ll let you know (if I can figure out how to update)…
  • In Touch With the Ex: Is it wrong to google your ExBF and when you find the website he’s created for his new business, to actually send an email through the “contact us” email link? If so, then I am absolutely wrong, wrong, WRONG!! I kept the note very short and breezy and polite in case there were other people reading, but I’d be lying if I said my hands weren’t shaking and my heart wasn’t racing when I actually hit the send button. But when the reply came a few days later, I think I actually broke into a sweat! AND, to top it off, the reply came from a different email address (one that his wife can’t access), so as to not ruffle any spousal feathers. Why did I do it? Curiosity, mostly. See, I’d found his website a few years ago, and thought about contacting him, but just figured that I should let the whole thing go. But lately I’ve been kind of struggling with some thoughts about relationships (mine, Grrrrr’s past, our possible future together, the probability of starting a family, etc. etc.), and I don’t know. I just felt like getting in touch with my past. Plus, when I went on his website, I noticed that it was all in French. Which could only mean that he had gone back to France, where he had been living for several years.

    He replied.

Sure enough, he had moved to France about a year ago, taking his French wife back to her homeland and introducing their 3 young children to French living. He wrote a nice note, nothing sugary-sweet, just the facts. He wrote about old friends of ours he’d been in contact with and he also told me that he’d looked me up too, and found some article quotes online, but couldn’t find an email address. He sent a photo of his family (wife, twin girls, and a boy—the spitting image of him). I don’t know how I feel about knowing all of this. I’m still processing it. But in the meantime, he also got me back in touch with another mutual friend of ours, and I’m really happy about that.

Uh oh…it’s time to get out of here. It’s FRIDAY, and I have a boyfriend to love on!!

So I’ll just leave my bullets as a reminder for another entry I need to write:

  • The Friendship Ring!
  • The LDL email
  • The Upcoming “Meeting”
  • And MORE…!
